The Practice Stream encourages practices to adopt a multidisciplinary, team‑based model of care.  This Stream offers financial incentives to help offset some, but not all, of the costs associated when engaging nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers and health practitioners.

The Doctor Stream provides direct payments to eligible doctors who deliver eligible services in eligible locations. This Stream supports and encourages careers in rural medicine by offering financial incentives for doctors to practise in regional, rural, and remote communities.

The Rural Advanced Skills Stream aims to support access to health care in rural and remote communities in MMM locations 3-7, as identified by the Modified Monash Model (MMM). This Stream provides additional annual incentive payments to doctors working in primary care and using advanced skills working across a range of other settings.

This incentive acknowledges specialist qualifications and credentialled skills, in turn, encouraging more doctors with advanced skills to work in regional, rural and remote areas.
